Single trip

This travel insurance policy will only cover you for, as the name suggests, a single trip. It can be used to cover an individual, a couple or a family by purchasing a policy before each trip. However, it can sometimes be a more expensive way to get insurance for your holiday, depending on how often you go away and how many of you will be travelling.

single trip travel destinationsWith a single trip policy you'll usually be covered for a combination of eventualities, this can include: injury & illness, holiday cancellation, public liability, loss of baggage, theft of holiday money & possessions and emergency repatriation.

A travel insurance policy will usually also give you access to a 24 hour manned emergency telephone number to ensure any claim is resolved quickly and efficiently.

As a rule of thumb, if you know you're going to travel at least twice in a 12 month period, consider an annual travel insurance policy instead of single trip cover. It can work out cheaper to have annual cover rather than buying two single trip policies.

Of course, this varies depending on where you're travelling to and for how long. But you will have the added comfort of knowing if you book another trip away within 12 months, you already have the cover in force.
